The 7 th Annual Taiwanese Music Festival Honors Concert
Time: 7pm, Saturday, October 17 th , 2009

Place: Campbell Center for Performing Arts, Greenhills School, 850 Greenhills Drive, Ann Arbor.

An evening of beautiful music (piano, string, ensemble) written by Taiwanese composers and performed by local music students and guest violinist Shih-Peng Chang, D.M.A. Special visit by composer Diau-Hua Lim, M.D., of Taiwan. There will be a l ight refreshment after the Concert.
Please bring a new or gently used kids’ book (3 rd grade or below) to help rebuild school libraries damaged by Typhoon Morakot. Concert is free and open to the public. Donations, sponsorship welcome. More info, visit www.MiTAI.org .

Seminar: My experience in Learning, Writing, and Promoting Music by Diau-Hua Lim, M.D.
Time: 2-3pm, Sunday, October 18, 2009
Place: Boeing Auditorium, FXB Building, The University of Michigan North Campus (at the corner of Hayward and Beal, Ann Arbor)

Dr. Diau-Hua Lim earned his M.D. from National Taiwan University Medical College, and Ph.D. in Internal Medicine from Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He has been a leading internist in teaching hospitals of Japan and Taiwan for more than 30 years.

Dr. Lim has been deeply fascinated by music since youth and self-taught music theory. He has translated several music textbooks and written many chamber music works. With his assistance, Homeland Chamber Ensemble ( www.homeland.com.tw ) was founded in 2001, which provides a platform for international tours and performances of many distinguished Taiwanese musicians.

  1. If you plan to go to the concert at Greenhills on Saturday, you should definitely make a trip to the Sunday seminar by Dr. Diau-Hua Lim, a trained medical doctor and self-made composer from Taiwan.

    A reception is planned to honor his visit immediately after the seminar with food and refreshment. FREE for ALL!

    It'd be a guilt-free excuse to stay inside as you are guaranteed to be inspired. Bring your family and friends, too.
